Mary's Meals

Children helping childrenWe have received confirmation from Mary's Meals that we have raised enough money to sponsor Chimbumbu Primary school in Balaka, Southern Malawi.

With the combined hard work and amazing generosity of our pupils, parents, staff, parish and friends in our local community, St. Joseph's has donated enough money to build  and run a school kitchen that will feed 741 children. By receiving a nutritious meal, these 741 children will be happier and have more energy to concentrate in school.

Thank you once again for for all of your support!

The pupils of St. Joseph’s are educated in a healthy, happy and safe environment where they are given every opportunity to reach their potential. Unfortunately, this is not the case for millions of less fortunate children in the world.

Our pupils have been learning that:

• there are 300 million chronically hungry children in the world
• 57 million of the world’s hungriest children do not attend school
• hunger kills millions of children each year

The children from St. Joseph's have decided to do their bit to help make life better for some of these children. This is they are working towards raising enough to buy a kitchen to help feed those children who need it most in the world.
